Art Appreciation

There is a wide spectrum of educational and professional development opportunities available to those seeking to enhance their understanding of, and skills required in, the practice of visual art and craft.

The range of providers includes private businesses, galleries, community colleges, art schools and some universities and TAFEs.

Business Skills for Artists

Business, marketing, sponsorship, retailing and manufacturing skills, copyright and legal information that assists artists to run their art practice may be available through small business networks, through dedicated bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office and the Australia Business Arts Foundation and through service organisations connected to the visual arts and craft. Training may also be available through vocational, tertiary and private education.

The best way to find out about the education or training provided by arts service organisations is to place your name on any e-bulletin or similar notification lists available to you and/or to check their websites.

Experiential Learning

The opportunity to participate in residencies, workshops and classes are offered by service organisations, some funding bodies, art associations, some educational bodies and private providers.
